How can I stop the bottle tips from getting clogged with cured
cyanoacrylate??
There are several answers:
- See
Basic Use for storage
techniques.
- Using our
Change-A-Tip product allows
easy change of clogged tips without having to cut back the clogged tip. This
keeps a precision tip for maximum application control. The Change-A-Tip storage
cap can also be used during storage. Clogged Change-A-Tips can cleaned
with DeBonder or
acetone to extend its use. Dry the tip thoroughly before reuse to
prevent contamination.
- For standard bottle tips, lightly tap the bottle to help the cyanoacrylate
drain from the tip back into the bottle.
"Burping" or slightly squeezing the bottle when upright to force
the small amount of CA out of the tip will also work. Use caution and
use eye protection.
- A nail or pin may be inserted into the nozzle tip.
This sometimes is a good answer if you are not concerned about a precision
dispense. Pliers may be required to remove the nail or pin.
- Many high volume users then just leave the cap off the tip and store it on the
shelf out of direct sunlight. This may not be the best technique for long
storage situations.
